& { {3, 4}, {5, 6} }
The problem is that {{3, 4}, {5, 6}}
is an rvalue (a value, not an object) and you can't take the address of an rvalue. After all, where is the memory for this object going to come from? However, you might be able to get away with rewriting this to

In C89, you can do:

In C99, you can use a compound literal, which has very similar syntax to your attempt:

(struct B []){ {3, 4}, {5, 6} }
