Is npm audit fix reliable?

I've been wondering for a while about the use of npm audit fix, as the audit talks about these vulnerabilities but my code still works, and I'm afraid of running the fix command because I fear it might break something in the way. How reliable is fix, and is it worth it to run it if my code runs okay already? I have no idea when would be an appropriate moment to run this, so 开发者_Python百科I've never done it.
