How is Redis_MaxMem calculated in redis.

Is there any formula which says Redis_MaxMem should be half of the physical memory.

Will server OOM if Redis_MaxMem more than 50% of physical memory

I checked the calculation and the values set ,expecting redis documentation regarding Redis_MaxMem recommendation
