aspnet_regiis -lk does not show all virtual directories

I set up a web application running .net 4 on a windows2003/IIS6 machine but mistakenly set the version to run as .net 2. It runs as a virtual directory under a main website.

I want to update the version of the site but dont want to have to restart IIS.

A little googling开发者_Go百科 told me I have to run aspnet_regiis -lk to get the id and then use aspnet_regiis -norestart -s W3SVC/XXXXX/root/VirtualDirectoryName to register it without restarting IIS.

However, aspnet_regiis -lk lists out all the other virtual directories under the main site but not the one I just added. Trying to run the command directly just throws an IIS error that it cant find the directory.

Does anyone know why that is and what I have to do to resolve it?
