The activity does not response in android

My Android application has an activity with a simple ui which only has a seekbar. I implemented the onProgressChanged method. My problem is: I init an object and write a record into the database by calling a private method named 'init()' in t开发者_如何学Che onCreate method of the Activity. But the Activity did not response, the seebar did not display. When i did not call 'init()' in the onCreate method, it is just ok, and the seebar display, what might be the reason?
