I want to know if it is possible to specifically send a request to get the clientaccesspolicy.xml file in Silverlight? Say the server is offline to begin with and the client does not get the policy file on start. This gets cached and all further requests fail.
I want to send a GET request to the server and request for the policy开发者_如何学编程 file periodically. Will it be ok to do this or do I have no option but to restart the application ?
Thanks
Unfortunately that usecase is not currently supported in Silverlight 4.
It is a fairly well-known issue and hopefully Microsoft will take it upon themselves to fix it in Silverlight vNext. If you're passionate about fixing this issue consider voting for it up on Uservoice.
